Description
‘The New Costume of the British Light Dragoons’. Coloured etching by and after Denis Dighton, published at Spring Gardens, London, by Dighton, 1812. During the Napoleonic Wars (1803-1815) the British Army had light dragoons, used for scouting and reconnaissance duties, and dragoon guards, who fulfilled a heavy cavalry role by delivering shock action on the battlefield.
