Description
This work by Bendz shows how lessons with a live model were carried out. The nude model struck dramatic poses that could be used in historical or mythological scenes. Seated in a circle around him, students are busy drawing on their sketch pads. The lessons took place in the evening, with artificial lighting, in order to ensure a steady light source which was better suited for history painting.
