Manned Space Flight, USA, Apollo 11 Apollo 11 astronaut Neil Armstrong, 1969. Armstrong is dressed in a full spacesuit with a camera attached to his chest area and is practising his lunar surface activities at the Manned Spacecraft Centre (now Johnson space Centre) Houston, Texas. Apollo 11, the first manned lunar landing mission, was launched on 16th July 1969 and Armstrong became the first man to walk on the Moon on 20th July 1969, closely followed by Edwin ÔBuzzÕ Aldrin.
