Little is known about the lives of Nicolas and Jean Baptiste Raguenet, who flourished in the second half of the 18th century. They seem to have specialised in painting the hôtels (houses of the wealthy or aristocratic) in Paris and views of the Seine between the Quay d'Ivry and the village of Chaillot.
