Sylvia’s recent work focuses on paper collage combined with acrylic paint to create colourful textural pieces. The subject matter ranges from landscape to still life and buildings, often created from her imagination. Recently her Japan inspired abstracts have attracted particular interest, one of them being hung in The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2009.

Sylvia has a growing following in Japan and in particular her English themed collages are much admired. She has held two solo exhibitions in Japan and in 2013 at her exhibition at Gallery Sakura, Nagoaka, 36 paintings were sold in three days.

Her vibrant oil paintings are full of energy and colour she works freely with a painting knife and has developed her own style over a number of years.

Sylvia has been exhibiting for 30 years and has held numerous solo exhibitions showing with several galleries in the UK. Other successes include being accepted for open exhibitions with The Pastel Society. The Royal Institute of Oil Painters, The Laing Landscape Exhibition and most recently The Royal Institute of Water Colour Artists where two of her landscape collages were exhibited.

Two of Sylvia’s paintings are in the Norwich Union Art Collection and her work is in many private collections in the UK and abroad.

Sylvia continues to demonstrate to art clubs and is has inspired many people with her painting workshops.
