Important Announcement: Bridgeman acquires Lebrecht Photo Library

Bridgeman is proud and excited to announce the acquisition of Lebrecht Photo Library, the world’s largest image bank for classical music and related arts, with a collection of over 400,000 specialist images.

Lebrecht is the world's most comprehensive image bank for every kind of music ever created  - classical music, jazz, opera, rock music, musical instruments, notation, Broadway musicals, dance and ballet. It also has an extensive archive for literature and historical personalities.

The core collection covers every aspect of the lives and works of composers and authors, the concert halls and coffee houses where they worked, the societies they lived in - from Chopin to Chagall, Pink Floyd to Stalin, Plato to Nabokov.

This collection is perfectly aligned with Bridgeman’s Art, Culture and Historic archive that is unmatched in the world today for licensing.

This acquisition of Lebrecht comes hot on the heels of the historical agreement with MiBACT, the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism which includes 439 Italian museums and cultural sites, the acquisition of Rue des Archives French photography collection, and winning the tender to be the exclusive editorial and commercial licensing partner in the UK for the British Library.

Bridgeman’s expansion also includes a new office in Italy and an International team that continues to grow and develop direct client partnerships around the world in all commercial sectors.

Victoria Bridgeman, CEO, said,

"We are delighted to be taking on the Lebrecht collection which we have always admired, and I hope we can now offer these wonderful images to an even wider audience."

If you have any questions regarding this acquisition, please do not hesitate to contact us.
