Julian Barnes won the Man Booker Prize for his novel The Sense of an Ending. Thanking the book's designer, Suzanne Dean, he added: "Those of you who've seen my book - whatever you may think of its contents - will probably agree that it is a beautiful object." Creative Review Blog - Despite the presence of new life in the floating seeds, the cover bleeds off towards a foreboding darkness with the ends of the book's pages blackened, too. Suzanne Dean, creative director at Random House, has designed numerous book covers using images sourced from the Bridgeman archive, some of which have been assembled in a montage design.
