Grand Central Terminal (GCT) is a suburban rail terminal (and former intercity terminal) located on 42nd Street and Park Avenue in downtown Manhattan in New York City, United States. Built by the New York Central Railroad and named in its honor at the height of long-distance passenger rail in the United States, it is the largest facility of its kind in the world in terms of the number of platforms, with 44 serving 67 tracks along them.
