Switzerland Zuerich Mini-Skirt Auction, 1969 (b/w photo)

Swiss artists Verena Voiret, center left, standing, and Dieter Meier, center right, standing, and members of the women's emancipation movement FBB auction off three women's dresses including a miniskirt at the protest meeting “The sad story of a consumption chicken or We exist to consume” in Zurich, Switzerland, pictured on July 5, 1969. A member of the FBB won the women's dresses at a Miss pageant on the ship “Helvetia” on Lake Zurich. A birth control pill vending machine at the Bellevue square is planned to be installed with the proceeds of the auction.
