Yaks carry hay on a bridge near the Himalayan village of Tengboche, May 13, 2003. Yaks cannot live below 10,000 feet (3,048 metres) because of their thick coat and vulnerability to diseases. Their lungs are well-developed to take in more oxygen in higher altitudes. They weigh up to a 1,200 pounds (550 kg).
