The almonds being cooked are used as centres in a range of chocolates. The firm of Caley were a successful confectionary business made famous by the Marching Chocolate sent to thousands of troops during the WW1. Caley sold out to Mackintosh in 1931 and this later led to the creation of a range of popular chocolate lines such as Rolo, Milk Tray, Quality Street and Good News. Photograph by Walter Nurnberg (1907-1991), who transformed industrial photography after WWII by using film studio lighting techniques.
