Photo of the wing, cockpits and engines of a German Junkers Ju 52 of the Spanish airline Iberia 1939 at the airport of Salamanca, Castile and Leon, Spain. Mechanics are working on one of the engines. The machine is named "Mola", after general Emilio Mola Vidal (died 1937), one of the leaders of the uprising of General Francisco Franco. During the Civil War, the Deutsche Lufthansa and the Iberia (founded in 1927) carried out scheduled flights mostly with German pilots in the Spanish national zone from 1937. The aircraft were provided by the Deutsche Lufthansa AG.
