Military accused of conspiracy and rebellion against the government of the Second Spanish Republic and sentenced to death. He got finally executed during the first months of the Spanish Civil War. At the end of the Civil War, the body was exhumed and carried on the shoulders from Alicante to El Escorial to honor him. Once the Basilica of the Valle de los Caidos was built, Francisco Franco ordered to bury the body there. Funeral procession through the villages of La Mancha with torches by militia of the Falange Party (24/11/1939).
