Marquee Club entrance, now to Soho Lofts, 90 Wardour St., Soho, W.1.owned and created by Harold Pendleton, friend and manager of jazz trombonist Chris Barber. The Marquee was witness to the London psychedelic scene of the late 60's, with bands including Pink Floyd. Site of the debut of supergroup Cream in 1966. Jimi Hendrix only played three times at the club (1967)- considered some of his best live performances ever. The second night at the club beat all the records of attendance and it is marked as one of the most important nights in the history of rock music.
