Image description

Cabinet, black ebonised oak carcase and cedar cabinet composed of two main parts, a rectangular base and narrower rectangular upper part. Sliding glass front on upper part with original, velvet-covered display panel missing. A row of five drawers behind glazed door on each end, with gilded inscription. The top lifts off. High relief plaster brackets at top on each side (three children, birds, scrolls). Lower part also has removeable top, drawers behind glazed door at ends (four on each side) and sliding glass front. In the front, behind glass, velvet lined recess, two shelves and three rows of small drawers at top (twenty four in all) with gilded inscriptions, plaster relief roundel (two putti and shield) on each side, near top. Vertical panel on each side is removeable. Dismantles to 53 main pieces.
