El Lissitzky was a Russian artist, designer, and architect born in 1890. He was a key figure in the Russian avant-garde movement and is known for his contributions to the development of Suprematism and Constructivism. Lissitzky studied in Germany and Switzerland before returning to Russia in 1914. He worked as a teacher and designer, and his work was heavily influenced by the Russian Revolution of 1917.
