This month Historic Royal Palaces began a year long celebration to mark the 500th anniversary of Henry VIII's accession to the throne of England and so it seems that once again Tudor history is hitting the limelight.
You may have noticed a dramatic new advertising campaign on the London Underground promoting two new exhibitions, Henry VIII: Dressed To Kill at the Tower of London, in partnership with the Royal Armouries and Henry VIII: heads and hearts at Hampton Court Palace.

Historic Royal Palaces is the independent charity responsible for the care of these two iconic attractions. For these latest campaigns they have worked with McGillan Eves design agency, and within their creative campaigns have combined traditional images with dynamic, engaging and eye-catching designs to appeal to a wider public.
Advertising Campaign: London covered
As part of their UK London based campaign, Historic Royal Palaces are running media including 4, 6 and 12 sheets
ticket gateways, LCD panels, taxi wraps and bus panels. Out of copyright imagery from the Bridgeman archive, portraits of both Henry VIII and Katryn Parr have been manipulated by the designers to great effect.

'Our challenge with this campaign was not only to reflect two very different sides to Henry VIII's personality and life; but also reflect two very different palaces and exhibitions. From the dramatic power of the Tower of London to the immersive, engaging feel of the new visitor experience at Hampton Court.'
