On the back of this photograph John James Frowde writes, "Another aspect of Duke Lane, with Billy Sayle's old public house on left. The furthest window on the ground floor has still a quaint, but flimsy, iron barricade to protect the glass. This was doubtless a wise precaution in those bibulous times. Two '20 snaps of iron protection to windows in the '20 print series."
