MONSTER STAMPS ISSUED AT UNIVERSAL STUDIOS, 1997-09-30 (photo)

Relatives of famous horror film actors pose with the series of United States postage stamps honoring classic movie monsters which were isued during ceremonies September 30 at Universal Studios in Los Angeles. Shown (L-R) are Ron Chaney, grandson of actor Lon Chaney, Jr., and great-grandson of Lon Chaney, Sara Karloff, daughter of Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi, son of Bela Lugosi. Chaney and Chaney,Jr. portrayed 'The Phantom of the Opera" and "the "Werewolf;" Karloff played "The Mummy and Frankestein's monster;" and Lugois played "Dracula."
