Claire Roberts (born 1971) is an artist printmaker based in Aberdeen, Scotland.
She is a graduate of Gray’s School of Art, Aberdeen, and The Slade School of Fine Art, London.
Claire creates enigmatic studies of (mainly) female characters; these are not “real” people but colourful explorations of the conventions of portraiture, beauty and adornment.
They capture moments in time, yet are timeless.
Claire’s prints are intentionally highly decorative works, but the characters she creates are not passive and may confront or deliberately avoid your gaze.
