Civilizations: Bridgeman Images used in the fascinating PBS series

We are delighted that over 80 images from Bridgeman Images were used in the fascinating series Civilizations, produced by the BBC in association with PBS.

Civilizations, 2018 PBS series

Civilizations is a 2018 British art history television documentary nine-part series produced by the BBC in association with PBS as a follow-up to the original 1969 landmark series Civilization by Kenneth Clark.

The series tells the story of art from the dawn of human history to the present day, for the first time on a global scale. It introduces the viewers to the great masterworks of beauty, ingenuity and illumination created across the continents. It explores the visual culture of societies from around the globe, revealing alongside the magnificent objects made in the West the wealth of treasures created by other cultures, from the landscape scrolls of classical China and the sculpture of the Olmecs to African bronzes, Japanese prints and Mughal miniatures.
