For this new interview on the work of Carlos Cruz-Diez, we had the pleasure of speaking to Adriana Cruz Delgado, daughter of the artist and President of the Cruz-Diez Art Foundation.
Carlos Cruz-Diez spent his life as a passionate painter and enjoyed a very colourful life. Born in Caracas, Venezuela in 1923, as a boy he loved drawing in class, playing at his father’s desk with his rubber stamp and observing the world around him.
Cruz-Diez was a member of the Op Art movement whose work focuses on the kinetic energy of colour. He believed Op Art was ''a movement that continuously depicts the instabilities of reality''.
