Commemorative plate for the North East Coast Exhibition of 1929 which is white glazed and decorated with an underglazed blue and white transfer-printed designs, the centre quatrefoil design depicts the River Tyne and bridges with a view of the Maling Factory in the foreground. The four oval cartouche around the rim which each depicts scenes from the North East industry. The west of Newcastle upon Tyne is at the top of the plate and there is a portrait of Arthur W. Lambert, Councillor, Lord Mayor and Chairman of the exhibition at the base of the design.
