Theodor de Bry was a Flemish engraver, publisher, and designer who lived from 1528 to 1598. He was born in Liege, Belgium, and trained as a goldsmith before moving to Antwerp to study under the renowned engraver and publisher Hieronymus Cock. In 1577, he moved to Frankfurt, where he established his own publishing house and produced a series of illustrated books on travel, exploration, and natural history. His most famous work is the "Grand Voyages," a collection of travel accounts and illustrations that documented the early European exploration of the Americas.
