The fresco depicts Argus inside a fake niche framed by painted architectural elements, among them stand out two monumental pedestals and the huge underlying shelves; the pedestals are decorated with monochrome circles that recall two episodes of Argus' myth; on the cornice on the top of the shelves two peacocks rest, symmetrically arranged to the sides of the composition; the male figure, headless and half-naked, stands in a smooth pose and rests his right hand on a pedestal while supports a spear with his left one; at his feet stands out a big gold-yellow medallion depicting a scene full of male and female figures.
