Georges Barbier was a French illustrator, painter, and designer born in Nantes in 1882. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris and began his career as a fashion illustrator for magazines such as La Gazette du Bon Ton and Vogue. He was known for his elegant and sophisticated style, which was heavily influenced by the Art Deco movement. Barbier's illustrations often depicted fashionable women in luxurious settings, and he was particularly skilled at capturing the intricate details of their clothing and accessories.
