Ladislav Zivr

Czech sculptor, 1931-1980

After finishing his studies at the School of Decorative Arts in Prague, he joined František Gross, František Hudeček, and the photographer Miroslav Hák in their informal surrealist group. His work moved from geometric cubism to the organic forms suggested by the French surrealists. Interested in chance and automism, he is known for his assemblages of found objects.
