Burgh, Lydia de (1923-2007)

Lydia de Burgh is a finely crafted commercial painter. She studied under Sonia Mervyn of the Pastel Society and the Byam Shaw School of Art in 1952. She is a portrait, landscape and wildlife painter and works in oil and watercolour, but she is perhaps best known for her portraits of H.M. the Queen and other members of the Royal Family. Lecturing worldwide, her work has been shown in the Northern Ireland Office, Vose Gallery, Boston, Mass, the Ulster Museum, the Sportsman’s Gallery, New York and Rowland Ward, Nairobi, Kenya.
