Degree Shows 2014

Find out which student degree shows we've been at over the last couple of months. Find out about our Student Subscription and hear more about our top pics for licensing from tomorrow's art stars.

Bridgeman Studio, the Artists Collecting Society and their loyal band of interns have been busy zipping around London over the last two months. Making the most of the summer degree show season, we have been viewing the work of as many of the best new graduates and postgraduate fine artists, illustrators, photographers and printmakers as we could muster. We're on the lookout for fresh new content and keen to engage with artists at the beginning of their career.

Announcing our new Student Subscription!

To coincide with the end of the academic year and the start of the careers for many emerging artists, we are proud to announce the launch of our new Student Subscription. Bridgeman Studio are passionate about supporting young artists, and helping them diversify their practice through image licensing.

For £50 annually, artists under 25 years old are afforded a 50% discount on the price of a full subscription.  Every student member of Bridgeman Studio is given full access to copyright clearance and advice, offered briefs through our new commissions programme, as well as receiving access to our reporting tool, giving detailed analysis of how images are used.

Bridgeman Studio were excited to be invited by Cass Art to speak at Free Thinking, a new annual series of talks and workshops aimed at emerging artists. Bridgeman Images' CEO, Victoria Bridgeman shared valuable insights into copyright and image licensing, as well as explaining the logistics and benefits of licensing. Other companies speaking included Etsy, Guardian Students and ArtsThread.

Take a look at Cass Art's website for a Bridgeman Studio write-up and great video from the Free Thinking event itself.

Our highlights

Team Studio were impressed with the level of artwork at the art colleges we visited this year. For Lucy Innes Williams highlights included the work of Pat Macdonald freshly graduated from Camberwell College of Art and Bella Larsson, from the Printmaking discipline, also at Camberwell. We are delighted to welcome both artists to Bridgeman Studio.

Charlotte Proctor Smith was particularly impressed with work from Kingston University's Illustration programme. This included Assa Ariyoshi's vibrant illustrations as well as Minhee Cho and her touching  illustrated book 'Hear' about a deaf boy and his twin brother.

Victoria Bridgeman, our CEO was very impressed with the beautiful work of Gordy Wight who we saw after our Free Range talk as part of the Keep Thinking event.
