21st century Art

Henry John

Times UK food illustrator, Henry John, comes from a family of celebrated artists including Augustus and Gwen John. Henry’s distinctive linear style is reminiscent of graphic commercial illustration that initially attracted British Pop Artists, notably Patrick Caulfield, in the 1950s. The stripped down aesthetic, bright colors and bold white backgrounds of many of his designs convey the freshness of modern cuisine. Henry’s graphic style is perfect for illustrating cooking books, and for housewares and stationery lines. He graduated from The Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art in 2003, after which, he studied for a year at The Prince’s Drawing School where he received the 1st award for his end of year show. Henry lives and works in London.  www.henry-john.com

Anthony Breslin

Anthony Breslin is one of Australia’s most eclectic artists. In addition to obtaining his BFA at RMIT University in Melbourne, Anthony has studied everything from acting to Shakespeare, to Shona culture in Zimbabwe. His passion is painting, though his experience in production design for theatre, TV, film and music videos has clearly inspired the performance aspect of his craft. Anthony’s works range from bazaar landscapes to diverse and futuristic looking human faces to playful bugs and flowers. His use of texture and color and the performance quality of his work is a delight whether you are a young child or an art aficionado.  www.anthonybreslin.com
