Artist Ingrid Dee Magidson

Ingrid Dee Magidson is known for her unique and beautiful transparent layered art. She painstakingly takes images of classic paintings and layers them with rare objects, collage and butterflies to create a dimensional art unlike anything being done today. It was Ingrid's love of the great masters that led her to her discovery.

"So many beautiful paintings are locked in the basements of museums and institutions. I wondered how I might bring them back to life, but still appeal to our modern aesthetics." - Ingrid Dee Magidson

Her works are popular with private collectors. She has twice been invited as one of the selected artists at the Hermitage Museum Foundation benefit in 2011 and 2012 alongside Jeff Koons, Damien Hirst and Michal Rovner. She is currently being considered for the permanent collection in the Smithsonian, Whitney and Crystal Bridges Museums.

This year's Hermitage gala is being held on November 10th at Phillips de Pury & Co.
