I live and work in London and when I get a chance I love to paint and draw - mainly birds and nature. After studying Graphic Design and working as a designer ever since graduating over 19 years ago I began to paint once more. Inspiration comes from personal experience and observations from everyday life. I illustrate using either oils, inks or charcoal.
I like to work on canvas, paper and sometimes onto ceramic surfaces. I enjoy working with ink because of its unpredictability. The freedom of inks adds to the initial spark of an idea and serendipitously transforms it to life.
I also illustrate using oil sticks which has the malleability to transform and develop an idea over a longer period of time as opposed to using inks - It is a process that evolves.
My angel artworks were part of an exhibition at Espacio Gallery in London. The exhibition was called 'A place in between'. The theme of this exhibition concentrated on a dream-like reality from the artist's perspective. Previously I've had paintings exhibited at the Griffin Gallery as part of a Winsor & Newton event in London, The Affordable Art Exhibition at the Dugdale Arts Centre in Enfield, the MS Trust Secret Art Show, a local Open Studios and Art Trail weekend and a pop-up gallery called 'Blink' which was held at the Earl Haig Hall in Hornsey. I am currently listed as an artist in Artfinder selling original artworks. You can see the collection here https://www.artfinder.com/nancy-moniz-charalambous
