Created at the Omega Workshops Ltd.: a design enterprise founded by members of the Bloomsbury Group and established in July 1913 (until 1919), located at 33 Fitzroy Square in London. Lewis worked briefly at the Omega Workshops, before a public dispute with Fry led him to abandon the Omega and form the rival Rebel Art Centre. Lewis did not share the exuberant and optimistic aesthetic of Bloomsbury, often employing a more sombre palette with tightly worked figures.
