In a white background, blue headline and below a table of contents, in black with red underlines, and a picture, reproducing the map of the Venice Lagoon painted in water Colour by cartographer Antonio Girolamo Vestri; the map, entitled on the top Venetian Lagoon (LAGVNA DI VENETIA), was published in 1692 after the probing of a big number of rivers and channels; on the bottom, indeed, below the writing Adriatic Sea (MARE ADRIATICO), are reported the names of all the probed rivers, streams and channels, from the Brondolo to the Piave Vecchia; the map, embellished with coats of arm and little drawings like the St. Mark Lion on the top or the scroll holders on the bottom flanks, marks the presence of Venice in white, among the dark tones of the lagoon, and shows ships sailing below it.
