Wagner, Thomas S. and James McGuigan, 100 Chestnut St., Phila. - Lithographer "Entered according to Act of Congress in Year 1846 by C.F. Hupfeld & Son in the Clerks Office of the District Court of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania." Joseph Jackson dates the print to c. 1840 but the date is blurred and Wagner and McGuigan were not on Chestnut St. until 1846. (acc. to Peters' America on Stone, p. 393) George Cadwalader (1806-79) was a general in the United States Army during the Mexican-American War and American Civil War.
