Research Centres, CERN A two-jet event with two isolated muons, CERN, 1990s. A two-jet event with two isolated muons tracks to the right as detected in DELPHI, one of the 4 LEP detectors. The decay of a Z particle into Higgs boson would look similar to this event. The two jets of particles are due to the decay of the Higgs into quarks. Detectors are devices which are used to measure the properties of particles. Some measure tracks left behind by particles and others measure energy.
