The consumer group says it has found StarLink, a bio-engineered variety of corn not approved for human consumption, in the product. Japan's Health Ministry said it will ask the United States to avoid exports of corn products containing StarLink. StarLink is used as animal feed in the United States but it has not been approved for human consumption because it may affect people with allergies. In Japan, StarLink is neither allowed for human consumption nor for use as animal feed. ST/PB
