These teat-ended rubber condoms are in their original carton and come with an instruction sheet giving detailed guidance on how they should be used. The packaging is labelled with the following information: ¥Follow carefully the directions inside this packet and ¥Warranted by the Manufacturer as Perfect. They are examples of the ¥CBC (Constructive Birth Control) brand of condoms and were donated to the Science Museum by the Marie Stopes Memorial Foundation. Marie Carmichael Stopes (1880-1958) was a feminist and birth control campaigner who founded the first birth control clinic in Holloway, North London on 17 March 1921. ©SSPL/Science Museum
