Alchemy & Early Chemistry Chart of cosmic elements, 1657. Woodcut. Annibal Barlet proposed a number of cosmological arguments that included elements of alchemy and astrology. This is the sixth example, bringing together his previous five cosmic arguments and joining them with the animal, vegetable, mineral and metal 'kingdoms' to form a cosmic model of the world. Although the book contains a great deal of alchemical jargon, it is for the most part good practical pharmaceutical chemistry.
