From 'Le Centre de l'amour, decouvert soubs divers emblesmes galans et facetieux' is a book of love emblems published in Paris c.1650 (reusing engravings from the early 17th century “Vita Corneliana,” and “Euterpe soboles”) with Latin and German text and salacious French epigrams. Games or pastimes serve as a metaphor for the difficulties and sensitivities of a relationship.
